About Us

The Carsey Institute conducts policy research on vulnerable children, youth, and families and on sustainable community development. We give policy makers and practitioners the timely, independent resources they need to effect change in their communities.

The institute was established in May 2002 from a generous gift from alumna and noted television producer Marcy Carsey. The institute has received support from the Ford, Kellogg, Annie E. Casey, New Hampshire Charitable, and Fuller Foundations, Jane’s Trust and the New Hampshire Endowment for Health. We also receive funding from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, the F.B. Heron Foundation, the New Hampshire Children's Alliance, and the Maine and Vermont Community Foundations. See a partial list of our supporters here.
