Communities & Policy Leaders
Nonprofit organizations are working throughout the region to advance opportunities for social mobility and to create healthy sustainable communities. In New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine, over 15,000 public charities play a critical role in states where home rule is the norm and change happens most frequently at the local level through citizen participation. Nonprofits are one of the main vehicles in the region through which the Carsey Institute’s research can be translated from good science to good policy and practice.
