The Center on Social Innovation and Finance was launched in 2011 by faculty director Michael Swack and founding executive director Yusi Turell.  By combining high-level education, cutting-edge research, and practical, engaged outreach, the center builds upon and expands Carsey's initiatives around community development by:

• Bolstering social innovation in New Hampshire and New England and building the state’s and region’s capacity to develop, sustain, and scale innovative and effective responses to social needs;
• Promoting enhanced access to financial capital nationally and internationally, through innovations in finance products, impact investing, and strategic philanthropy; and,
• Contributing significantly to the University of New Hampshire’s strategic plan for 2020 through engaged scholarship, integrated learning experiences, and a strong international component to our work.
