evaluation Research

The Carsey Institute has developed a new evaluation program to serve regional nonprofits and train graduate students in evaluation methods. As part of this work, Carsey is evaluating the Androscoggin Valley Partnership Program. This new partnership was developed by several community groups in the Berlin/Gorham area to build on existing regional collaborations to provide youth and adult workers with the skills, basic and advanced education, training and business opportunities they need to become engaged productive participants in the North Country’s new community and economic future.

The first Carsey evaluation research project involving an interdisciplinary team of researchers studied how a program supporting resident-owned manufactured housing communities in New Hampshire affects residents and what impact the cooperatives have on surrounding communities.

A grant from the Jane’s Trust includes support for two graduate student Evaluation Fellowships each year.
