Work in the Northern Forest
The Northern Forest Community Partnership is a collaborative effort between the Carsey Institute and the Northern Forest Center to provide grounded, dynamic research to facilitate the Center’s efforts to develop a sustainable future for the Northern Forest and the communities within it by integrating conservation with community economic development.
Currently, the Carsey Institute is working with the Northern Forest Center to develop baseline indicators of economic, environmental, and community health for this region. This index of sustainability will help the Center to identify strategies and recommendations for sustainable working landscapes in the region. The Institute is also providing other research on socioeconomic and demographic trends on the Northern Forest region.
Carsey staff work intensively with the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation to advise the new Louise and Neil Tillotson Fund in the region.
