Policy Leadership for a changing region

With support from the Jane’s Trust, the Carsey Institute’s Policy Leadership for a Changing Region Initiative builds the analytical capacity of nonprofit leaders, inspire and teach them to be more strategic and collaborative, link them to one another and to regional and national leaders in their field, help them develop “emerging” leadership, and provide ongoing policy and evaluation resources. Each year Carsey works with Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine funders to select 12 mid-level nonprofit organizations, four in each state, and their leaders to participate in high level, in-depth workshops that introduce them to policy issues and analysis, widen their horizons in their field, and provide them with practical tools to better lead their organizations and communities.

The Initiative develops, nurtures, and sustains a cadre of cross discipline nonprofit leaders from the fields of children and families, community development and housing, and public health who will be well informed and actively collaborate to improve policy and programs that build opportunities for vulnerable families and communities in northern New England.
