Katie Edwards
Katie Edwards is a Carsey Institute faculty fellow and assistant professor in the Psychology Department and Core Women Studies Faculty. Currently Katie is working with other Carsey Institute staff and faculty on studies examining intimate partner violence (IPV) in rural communities across America. Other current projects focus on women’s leaving processes in relationships characterized by IPV, disclosure of IPV experiences and social reactions to these disclosures, and ethics of IPV research. The ultimate goal of Katie’s program of research is to utilize data to implement effective IPV prevention and intervention efforts at the individual and community levels in addition to advocating for broader legislative and social changes.
Katie earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology and graduate certificate in women’s studies at Ohio University following the completion of her APA-accredited clinical internship at Vanderbilt University – Department of Veterans Affairs Consortium.
