Jessie French is a second-year doctoral student in sociology at the University of New Hampshire. At the Carsey Institute, she works as a research assistant on the Vulnerable Families research team.

Jessie completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Justice Studies, as well as a master’s in Justice Studies, from the University of New Hampshire. Her thesis was titled “Gender Bias in the Legal Field: Experiences of Female Attorneys and Law Students”. She also worked in the field of family violence as a Domestic Violence Specialist, working collaboratively with child protection and domestic abuse services. Her interests include family sociology, sociology of gender, sociology of health, and political sociology.
