Amy Sterndale oversees all public relations for the Carsey Institute, including organizational branding, internal and external communications, university relations, media partnerships, websites, and all research publications.

Prior to joining the Carsey Institute, Amy worked at Random House, Inc. She oversaw the promotion of hundreds of titles by former presidents and business leaders, health experts and historians, including twenty-seven New York Times best sellers. There she was the marketing manager for multiple brands, including the American Heart Association, Sierra Club, Yankee Magazine, Fast Company, Kiplinger's, and Random House Reference. She worked for several other publishers and has consulted and written for local companies and nonprofits. Amy has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire. She gives presentations on marketing and communications best practices and is on the steering committee for the National Rural Assembly. She is a graduate of Leadership New Hampshire, and NH Businesses for Social Responsibility's Corporate Sustainability Leadership Program, and a former officer on several local boards.
