drd33@cisunix.unh.edu Desiree Wiesen-Martin is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of New Hampshire. At the Carsey Institute she works as a research assistant for the Vulnerable Families research team. Her work with the Vulnerable Families research team has helped to inform her dissertation work examining domestic violence and sexual assault victim help-seeking.
Desiree obtained her master’s degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Her master’s thesis focused on the professionalization of the battered women’s movement. Her interests include violence against women, victimization, gender and crime/delinquency, and adolescents’ relationships with siblings.
